Extremely disappointed with HomeRiver Group in Columbia, SC. They’ve charged me $865 for damages I’m not responsible for—including a broken doggie door that had normal wear and tear from previous tenants, kitchen outlet issues, and plumbing problems even though I provided proof I’ve been calling since move in about it. I’ve been going back and forth with Margret Potter for over month over $981.62. I had automatic payments set up and unfortunately I paid a full month’s rent instead of prorated amount of $312.43 plus $44.95 for air filter replacements that were part my leasing contract. They’re to charge me an additional two days of rent. I moved out on the 7th. I understand repainting the house however, why withhold money when it was never part of my rental agreement. Terrible, terrible management group. They run you round and round in circles chasing people to talk to when you have an issue. Getting anything fixed on properties that certainly were never inspected before move in or after work is done takes an act of congress. Even then it might not be resolved. You never talk to the same person twice. Just awful. Run away and do not rent from them. 3/13/25 update. Reiterating never ever rent from these crooks.
