Ive been a member with care.com for over ten years and I had a perfect five star rating with glowing reviews. One day, I woke up to my first negative review and it wasnt even from a family I worked for. I interviewed with this family and the parent had said in all the years she has interviewed people, she has never met anyone that seemed to want to be more of a friend to her kids rather than a nanny. BEFORE you sign up, start a job posting or pay for a membership, TRY to find a customer service number. Try to find a company address. Try to reach customer service. Look at all the BAD reviews. While this site is not a scam, they are actually listed on the stock market, there should be rules of transparency before they are able to take your payment because they are cloud based. Think of 1 STAR RATING as a ZERO.
They are the worst. The cancelation process is particularly difficult and even when you do it all they still charge you and refuse to refund your money.
Care.com automatically bills even when you have canceled properly! Do not ever give this company your credit card information! I canceled on January and Im still being charged in May! Absolutely insane and it appears there is nothing I can do to prove I canceled or get my money back. Im about to file a formal complaint and fraud alert against them
Never ever use this service to find a caregiver of any kind. They give you directions how to cancel your account, but they are not accurate. When you finally get a person, they are happy to close your account but will still charge you a fee saying it is part of terms and conditions you signed up for. Again, never ever use this service.
It is hard to tell whether this is a legitamate business, since all attempts to communicate with this company is totally fruitless. The only option you have on their website is to go to their FAQs page OR to email them. If the FAQs do not answer your question (they don't cover anything with how to use the website or contact prospective clients) then your only other option is to email them and supposedly get an answer within 48 hrs. Care.com DOES NOT CARE. The company sent me an email that my premium membership was terminated and that I would receive a refund for the recent months subscription fee within 3-7 business days. I paid for the entire year upfront in the amount of $166.30 on 12/02/2020 and my membership was terminated 01/21/2021. I expected most of of the membership fee to be refunded to me. I don't trust ANY BUSINESS that you cannot reach by phone or email!!! They are extremely expensive, their app/website does not search your job by available babysitters-although is says it does, none of them are actually available. Why would I trust this a business to provide a trustworthy babysitter when the business itself provides ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE options. If you call them they tell you to go to the HELP section of their website. CROOKED.
