I have found a variety of excellent short term and long term caregivers from this site. Care.com has been responsive on the rare instances Ive had a bad experience.
The concept is great - it is easy to find providers. That said, they have added a step where you are automatically paired for one time sitters, with which I have a major issue. I prefer to post early and interview people to find a good fit. Removing that for one time sitters has made me less likely to use this service as I have been paired with providers who I do not think are a good match, and whom I have not gotten to interview. I will not leave my kids with someone who I have not vetted.
Eventually we found a great provider to help out in a pinch. There were quite a few, I'll call spam providers, who responded agreeing to the position without understanding it only to decline once they realized what the job was. I would like to see CARE do more to suspend or close accounts that do this because it makes it hard to find care when needed under short notice.
All agents were very helpful in finding amazing people for me. The kids loved them and the sitters were very helpful and engaging.
Care.com was incredibly helpful in terms of finding great people to help us. The user interface is a little clunky / challenging to use but the people were great.
I have had some success using care.com in and out of state in my travels. I would recommend it to anyone in need of the services they advertise. The phone app needs a little tweaking but is fairly easy to use. The only problem I have had using care.com is getting timely replies from potential caregivers whether they are interested or not. One recommendation I would have would be for care.com to have a public message board for comments and or suggestions that all could see.
Care.com was a great service. When hiring help for our mother when she went into hospice, I felt completely at sea. Finding a place who had done the background checks made it easy and we were so very happy with both the ************ that we hired. They lovingly helped us through to her death and were 100% reliable and caring.
I use care to help find help for my aging senior for the most part candidates have all been great and ended up hiring permanently. We have a good team now but will use again in the future if need further services.
Great service for those needing paid caregivers for a loved one.
