I recently (May 2025) used LegalZoom to form my LLC and agreed to the registered agent service through them. Apparently I inadvertently agreed to a couple of other subscriptions and didn't pay close enough attention until I saw a surprise $199 charge for "State Compliance Filings Renewal." Pain in the a** scam, no matter how simple we tried to make it, all they did was take our money and not provide any documents or services as promised. Now I need another lawyer to get my money back from these half a** lawyers. Just go to someone local and don't let these thieves scam you!

I trusted LegalZoom for 3 years to help me with my business. My CPA forgot the file a form with the state of *****. LegalZoom told me they would do it for $950. I did it for $75. They are a complete rip-off and con artist yes they did set up my LLC and I appreciated that but they did it for a lot more money I could do it anywhere else they also want me to pay $499 for a registered agent I got one for $34 you do not need legal zoom do your own research people they are rip off artists!!!

Compromised my account and my data, then refused to delete my account or my data until I threatened legal action. They do not take privacy or security seriously. Don't use unless you want your information shared with random people.

*************, it never went anywhere by my own doing BUT getting LegalZoom to submit the dissolution was a nightmare! Spoke to several people, submitted documents over and over again, then I continued to get emails wanting more money for an RA....for a business that is inactive with the state. They will not stop sending me emails and I have had over 4 chats with them to stop all contact with me on an inactive account.

I created an LLC and payed a subscription for a registration agent to file the ********************. The registration agent was not filing ******************** was canceled. I was fine with my LLC being canceled but Legal zoom continued to bill me and just recently took $400 for the subscription and my LLC was and is no longer active. Having to speak with multiple people just to try and resolve an issue is not professional either.

This is a super suspicious website that seems like a phishing operation. My main credit card was denied as I tried to register an LLC. When I called customer service this morning a really rude man informed me that I might not have had "sufficient funds" and must provide another credit card. Meanwhile, there is NO record on my credit card side of any declined payments or "insufficient funds" (it's been more than a week since that "declined" transaction). I wouldn't trust them. Filed for a business, they approved the business name - took 3 weeks longer than quoted, and then "approved it". I went to the bank to open an account with the *** number - it doesn't exist. Now the state has rejected my business name. I am still waiting for LegalZoom to reimburse me and set me up with an actual business name that is not taken. DO NOT TRUST - File for a business with your local office or another way.

DO NOT USE Legal Zoom! I just wasted my whole morning talking to 7 agents at Legal Zoom via Chat, Email, and Phone. First of all, their customer service is in *****, so their English is not very understandable. Second, they are terrible at their job. I was simply trying to form an LLC, and they kept rejecting my agent's address because they were misspelling it.
