Tried to get a refund for a service that was not provided, they gave a logically impossible answer to the situation that did not solve the problem.
LegalZoom is predatory. A service accidentally auto-rewned for another year for a now defunct entity I used to run. I caught the charge in less than a week and let them know of the mistake. They refused to refund. 99% of companies don't do this c*** Stay away.
The absolute worst company to deal with. They screwed up forming my LLC, registered it under the wrong name. Won't fix it, won't even acknowledge me when I try to get them to fix their mistake. So now i have to pay somwone else to fix their s**** up. Had to file for an extension on my taxes because I couldn't file because the name was wrong. Stay far far away from them.
I am very displeased with Legal Zoom. They hold my business documents hostage by only allowing a pdf version. I want to make an address update to the operating agreement but they want to charge me $199 to do it, or that I should get a lawyer to make changes to something I can do myself and is not legally required by my state. Im not a fan of LegalZoom. 3 1/2 years ago, I got my legal license through them. They tried to explain to me why I needed to pay them $300 for a registered agent. They got away with charging me this charge twice before I realized it was $15 to change my registered agent to myself. My accountant did this for me and then they charged me $500. When I called to tell them that I had changed my registered agent they said I should have notified them and I said where was my notification that the charge is now $500? Get your LLC somewhere else. Not worth it at LegalZoom
LegalZoom has an abundance of insecure business practices including the sharing of private, confidential information, particularly about company formations themselves. I DO NOT recommend LegalZoom. Take your business elsewhere.
The worst. A subscription fee to remain compliant?! A terrible interface. AND WORST of all, when I dissolved my LLC, it cost me $240 which I stupidly paid, then weeks went by with no Confirmation, so I chatted with support and they said "Oh we couldn't process it, go through the process again and THEN we will give you a refund for the first one." I used LegalZoom to file everything for me **** That part went fine. It was just while I was an independent contractor and that only lasted a few months. I then went through the site to dissolve the **** My account page even said "Dissolved" on it. That was a couple years ago and I admit I'm not great at catching charges on my credit card sometimes especially if it's just a once-a-year charge.
