I decided to check out Care.com for some side work, I'm a caregiver to an elderly parent and don't get paid so I wanted something that has flexibility that a normal 9 to 5 doesn'**** even look at what Care.com offers you have to sign up with an email, which is a red flag but I idiotically did it anyway. If I could leave no stars, I would have. I recently posted a job on care.com; I paid the premium subscription. The website was difficult to use and would not allow me to message/communicate with potential caregivers without the other party accepting the job posting first. This led me to have to delete my job post/cancel the job, and then go through the process of re-posting it, when I found out the potential caregiver's schedule would not work with my needs. My elderly mother signed up for care.com to try and help her find a caregiver. She though she was paying to the annual option of ***** a month cancel anytime membership, but then got charged for the entire year all at once. I tried to contact and just keep going round and round with a chat robot. This app is supposed to help elderly people find care, but take advantage of them.
Care.com app is very biased and very one-sided?????I am extremely educated and experienced as a personal care associate (16 yrs) as I also hold a bachelors degree in health and human services! I have five star reviews and I have wonderful references! However, I had a problem with one of my clients parent and they automatically delete my account without any questions from me and not to mention its been many many years ago, and they still will not allow me to be on their app ?! Transaction made without knowing full charge amount. **************** contacted multiple times and redund refused even though no services were provided. They refuse to cancel membership, speak to me through chat or emails.
I receive a back up care reimbursement as a benefit through my employer, from care.com every 3 months. It takes them a month to reimburse those funds now, when it use to only take them a week. I believe they are holding funds rather than reimbursing in a timely manner.
Care.com is operating in bad faith and displaying extreme unprofessionalism by deliberately listing an incorrect out-of-state address on my account and refusing to correct it. They falsely claim they are unable to update my permanent address, despite having full knowledge that the current address is completely ************* a lifelong ******** resident, there is absolutely no justificationby myself or Care.comfor why an out-of-state address is being used as my permanent address.
