It is extremely difficult to get in contact with customer service. I am trying to delete my account (not just pause. I mean FULL data deletion). They loop you around in circles with the help centre and even the California Privacy Policy links are not helpful.
I subscribe to Care.com to find a math tutor. I searched for an hour, but was unable to find a candidate that was under $30 an hour with references. I contacted Care.com the same day to say this service was not a fit for me and could I please have a refund. I was told no and that they would upgrade me to "premium" for a month. When I reiterated that I did not want the service and will not be using it they repeated that it was a across the board policy not to refund. What a ridiculous concept: to have people be able to create an account, post a job, look at Job applicants, allow job applicants to apply for your job, but then have no way to hire or communicate with them without upgrading!! I mean seriously what was the point of all of that if you can't even do the one basic thing of hiring someone for the job. Absolutely ridiculous! Don't waste your time.
This company is shady, they will automatically place add on charges and have policies to not provide refunds. **************** is all electronic there is no telephone communication, the only phone number found online is through a 3rd party that leads to an automated message telling to use the website. They do not abide by their own policies to address concerns within 48hrs as stated on website or in automated email response. Terrible slimy company. Send you emails repeatedly after requesting to opt out which is a violation of the CAN-Spam Act. They hound you in the beginning then it takes forever to get in contact with someone. They are deceitful and misleading. ****** is a better platform. They are north forth coming and lie when you ask if you are allowed to cancel if you are not satisfied and then refuse to provide you with a copy of their recorded line. Shame!!
There are cleaners using their platform to scam people and care.com simply does not care.
I signed up for Care.com to find a caretaker for my parent. I requested an extensive background check to be sure that he will be taken care of appropriately. The website gave me a time frame to expect it, and the date came and went. On the webpage, there was only an option to talk via chat. I've been a caregiver for Care.com, since 2018, with a 5-star average rating. I watch infants 0 mos - 12mos or until they start walking on their own. I just finished my 4th family, having watched her for almost 10 months. When I was reading the review they had left, I noticed my 5-star rating had gone down to 4?! I didn't understand why because I had the four 5-star reviews and no others. I contacted Care and they said I needed the newer version of their app, so I updated.
