I had hoped to find reliable childcare through care.com but really just found frustration. I would post a request and send messages directly to the providers recommended to me. In all but one instance, I never received a response. Not even a "no, thank you" or "I'm not available". Just nothing. I made sure I was offering a competitive rate and tried to be very detailed (without violating the ambiguous care.com policies) in my requests. Should have read the reviews first - as far as I can tell it is impossible to cancel the subscription! The website tells me to use the app, and the app is totally dysfunctional. Total scam!

Care.com is fraudulent. When I purchased my premium subscription for $10 a month, paid 6 months in advance, I assumed that I would be able to communicate freely with my prospective client. After speaking over care.com with the client, any email address, home address and phone number was blocked from my view and the client's view so that we could not work together. Do not give them your credit card information! I signed up for one month and they kept my credit card information and continued to bill me until I caught it. Mind you, I never used their service as my mother in-law passed away. They have no contact information available once you remove your cc from their site. I had to cancel my credit card completely with my bank.

Ive used this website for at least 5 years to find my own private clients.Im a caregiver and I have had 5 star ratings/reviews on care from a minimum of 12 families that I worked through the years that I got connected through that site.At least half of the adds up seem like fake bot adds I definitely noticed this through the years and that seemed a bit funny to me.This part right here Im pretty sure is illegal.I think they post many of their own adds to attract members but its not as busy as it seems so yes I think they are ... read more

Horrible, horrible experience. In order to write to any potential caregivers, I had to sign up for the service. I responded to every caregiver who expressed an interest in my job. Not one responded back. So I cancelled the service immediately and disputed the charge with my credit card company, explaining that I did not get the service I paid for. Somehow care.com was able to convince the credit card company the charge was legitimate so I'm out the money I paid for the subscription. I am suspicious that even though I cancell... read more

I was never successful using this service. I subscribed for it one year ago and now they charged me for another year. The day after my CC was charged, I called asking to delete my account and for a refund. They told me the charge was non-refundable. This is what I was informed "we make attempts to inform you of our auto-renewal policy and of planned charges", which is a lie as I never received an email about the recurring charges. This company is a complete scam! I signed up for one month and they billed me for 8 subsequent months without a single notification. I cancelled my subscription but some error on their site made it not go through and since I never received a single notification my card was getting billed I didn't realize I had been paying for this service for 8 months without realizing it! $400 in unwanted services when i never even logged into the account as I only needed it once for a vacation nanny. DO NOT sign up it is a SCAM!!!!

The TL;DRAVOID AT ALL COSTS. The longer version: The app and website are glitchy. Signing up was an ordealCare.com happily took my money (I paid for a monthly subscription and paid for a premium subscription to have piece of mind in terms of background checks for contractors) but after that I had the hardest time setting up my request (signing up for a dog ****** to come to my brothers house twice a day, morning and afternoon).
