This used to be a great site. Almost all my leads for my Tutoring business came from this site. Within the last month or so Care.com completely changed their format and started requiring all customers to be premium members in order to communicate with potential clients. The new format is not allowing employers and potential employees to communicate with each other. This company has become a scam - unreachable by phone or my email. Their email box is full. They reactivate the auto renewals on your account & then say you have to pay 3 months before you can cancel.
There is a rating of one star because there was no way to leave zero! This company practices aggressive and predatory tactics to get you to sign up. The representative did not listen and repeatedly interrupted with her pitch. This was a high-pressure sales call for a product I have no need or desire to enroll in. Care.com Charged my card after cancelling my membership. I even called the day that I noticed a charge, which was the same day it posted, and they refused to refund me. There is no way for caregivers to contact customer service unless they pay for a monthly subscription. I tried emailing, calling, and reaching out through Instagram. This is very hard to deal with when one needs help!
Their format has changed since I last used it. At this time, they do not give you a free preview of how their premium subscription works. Paid $38, and when I searched for sitters with a specific parameter I was unable to directly contact those that specifically met my needs. Instead it takes you to a page where it makes you use a credit card to "book" the person before you even have a chance to connect with them and interview them. do NOT sign up until you have checked some sample of what's available. They have a HARD sell to BUY now with discounts, etc. I searched and saw there were 80 candidates. I used care.com in past and it was fine. So i signed up again for 3 months. I have a complex housesitting job. They no longer let customers post. At the end of the "post" they set their own price to my job and said they would bill my credit card, take out other fees for it and then pay the sitter. I told customer service that due to the complexity of my petsitting job i would need to pay the sitter myself.. They said i couldn't. I canceled my premium mrmbership in January and was billed for a semiannul payment on April 27,2023. I reached out to them and they said they wouldnt make refund me the money because i didnt have an email verifying my cancelation.
