DO NOT JOIN! I subscribed as a new mother in a new community hoping to find a sitter. They renewed by subscription with a SIGNFICANT increase without notification OR consent. They were completely unempathetic when I addressed a refund - and frankly I did not find the project that useful.
I opened an account in January for ONE month and been charged for additional 10 months. I tried to stop the payment and after 10 months an email was sent that " my account will be downgraded after this month ". I would give them minus if possible as the candidates that I connected in January lacked responsibility. I am disputing their " services" with my bank now. ******************
I am having a hard time deciding if care.com is a scam or not. If the people infesting the service are unreliable and ghosting, or if the service is FOSTERING this behavior does it matter if care.com is legit?We need childcare NOW. If you call and cancel and they don't send you a confirmation then you are on the hook. That's basically what happened to me for trusting a rep and assuming the action was complete. This company is unethical in its auto renewal practice, even if its in the contract because they don't cancel when you request it. I even implored them to look at the last time I'd logged in and sure enough it was over a year ago. They also stated they saw a previous cancellation on file. Horrible Company, Deceptive Practices/Avoid at all Costs!I would give Care.com a zero-star review if possible. Our very small preschool, having just survived covid by the skin of our teeth, signed up with them on the understanding that the fee was $200/yr. They called over and over to sign us up, and then after we did they were unreachable. I would leave a ZERO star review if possible. Do Not create an account on care.com, they will charge you $155 without notifing you and offer $0 refund. There is also no **** number which should've been a red flag. The only way to contact the customer service/staff are through online chat and email. This website and service is a scam. The sitters I found on this website were less than hiring quality.
This is a terrible company. They send constant spam and nagging to sign up for "premium" with no actual benefits. They charged me for a background check, sent applications to people for jobs I didn't want and for which I am not available, and told me that I needed to pay for the premium plan in order to communicate with potential clients. The customer service refused to explain the alleged job applications that I did not make and refused to refund the fees I was charged when I requested to close the useless account.
There website is not user friendly. The practices used by ********************** are very deceptive. I am out money. It is very difficult to reach someone. I could not even access my account profile on their website. It just stayed on the "making your profile" section. I do not recommend this company.
First and only job I did, I never got paid. Tried to contact care.com and was ghosted.
