Legal zoom practices the shady way of hidden renewals and DO NOT issues any form of refund, even if the business is no longer in operation.Legal zoom sent me 10 junk emails the month before renewal and also one email letting me know of the renewal. I don't value legal zooms emails so I don't open them. I called a few days after renewal of $299 and asked for a prorated refund. No way they are doing that. I used LegalZoom to amend my company name and was charged over $200. They failed to inform me that I would also need to publish the amendment in a newspaper. I only discovered this requirement after 45 days had passed, which led to additional costs when I had to pay again at the Secretary of State. Very disappointed with their lack of transparency and additional unexpected expenses.

Started a business everything was great. Was up charged that I did not agree to. They want to charge you a $200 annual renewal fee. They also want to charge me a $50 a month renewal fee for services. I have no idea what they were for I did not agree to the up charges.Refuse to credit my account.

I feel LegalZoom is a scam. On 4/30/2024. I was online applying for my LLC, I was on Michigan.gov. Well Legalzoom popped up somehow, I end up filling out my application through LegalZoom, they took my payment of ****** off my card. I have my receipt, I called them told them two hours later that it was a mistake, I wanted my money back. An registration agent told me that I could not cancel my order. Legal Zoom is an Horrible waste of time. This service is the Most fraudulent service I have ever used, they stated that they could provide a service for me, establishing my business documents, but I had to consistently contact the state of illinois about documents that were never processed, and then they attempted to continue to contact me with false information, communication that the work was completed, and misrepresenting the work that they completed. In March 2023, I utilized Legal Zoom online services to create my LLC, my bank information was required. After the completed order was completed, a payment for the 2024 year was deducted for enrolled agent services without my knowledge. I contacted Legal Zooms online contractors/international staff - in order to clarify their process, however I surprised to receive rude responses. I had my LLC dissolved through Legal Zoom. Even though I dissolved my LLC, they still had me on a subscription for them as my registered agent. Why would I need an agent if I dissolved my LLC? They charged the annual of $239, then wouldn't give me back a refund after I discovered they had charged me after the 30-day grace ******* The rep who I talked to tried to help as much as he could, so I don't blame them at all. **************** is unhelpful. Their subscriptions and add ons are very sneaky. I have not had an enjoyable experience using them at all. If youre in ** please do not use their registered agent service. You need to publish your business in a paper (per state laws) and most companies that publish will want to be your registered agent at a much cheaper cost than Legal Zoom. They do not offer publishing services so you will pay twice. Dont make that mistake! And dont fall for the hidden fees and useless add ons.

Absolutely predatory business practices by this company, I can't believe I had two businesses through them. Discontinue one by submitted the appropriate paperwork and then they auto-renew my subscription on the discontinued business but won't refund my money. Their customer service is absolutely terrible and feel they are absolutely taking advantage of small business owners by not enabling certain account features online without notifying their customers.
