This is my experience with legalzoom. It has been absolutely terrible. I filed for a DBA and an ***. I was told my paperwork was submitted to the Secretary of State, I called the Secretary of State, I learned that it was not filed there. The status bar associated with my account is a misrepresentation of information in general. It says it was filed with the Secretary of State which is misleading and untrue. Poor customer service and support!! They automated billing system auto changed my address and no matter what I try the issue has not been fixed! Now my docs will be sent to a none existing address in a state I am not in. Well over 1 hour on live chat with no human contact!

Will never stop billing, even after you cancel! They did a fair job in starting a simple LLC but then I was inundated with offers for services, which they framed as legally necessary, but were not or that could be done by myself in minutes without any legal training. Then, when I cancelled services they have kept trying to bill me. I have communicated several times with them, getting zero response, but then they keep trying to bill my credit cards. They charge hidden annual renewal fees and don't refund As a first time business owner I decided to go with LegalZoom. I had chosen to open my business with them. One year later I notice two charges on my account. They stated one was for the Essential Compliance Package Renewal and the other is the Registered Agent Renewal. WORST online experience EVER! Waste of resources! We paid for expedited non profit on Feb.28. This ordeal has brought us to Oct and continues. LZ didn't file our paperwork correctly with the state. Then they got our address wrong for delivering those documents, even though I filled out the questions pertaining to it with an agent explicitly stating I'm a ******** with a ******** address. The worst experience. I setup an LLC which are year later i tried to cancel. They sent documents to have mailed back to complete dissolution. Initially, i was told it had to be sent via mail. I send it, 30 days later, i called and they didn't receive it. I was told no you can email it. I requested the documents to be sent via email and completed and sent documents back. 30 days later, i called back because at this point they charged me again for the next year ($299). Do not waste your time and money with this company. I filed for a my DBA. A month later, with phone calls and text chats nearly every other day with Legalzoom associates I keep getting the run around. They keep extending their time frame. LegalZoom's tactics are incredibly shady as they claim to be able to "take care of" certain aspects of business for you such as creating an EIN for your company for $99. Anyone who is able to do a quick ****** search would be able to create an EIN in under five minutes for free. I'm from ***** and filing with our state is $300, somehow I ended up out of pocket an extra $250 just becuase I wanted to give LegalZoom a try. WARNING: Legalzoom has been a nightmare. I set up a consultation and was charged for it $259 for the services. I was contacted back by an agent and told me that the attorney was not available and had to reschedule me with a different attorney. That attorney never contacted me. I called to have my subscription cancelled and have the $259 renewal and the initial $259 consultation charge ($500 total) cancelled and refunded.
